Result of a professional career as industrial designers and a Masters in product design in Europe, We Daniela Muñoz and Christian Parra achieved a well-designed design by articulating all the knowledge acquired until today, focusing our attention on resistance and advantages Ecological cardboard (basic concepts of materials for every industrial designer in his first semester), which together with a technique manages to convert cardboard into a fully functional design, later the concept is expanded with the knowledge obtained in Europe that allowed us to know the latest trends in eco design in the world associated with responsible consumption. Upon returning to the country, we demonstrate the opportunity to create an entrepreneurship project from cardboard, since no designer in Colombia has explored this concept, this is how CARTONMADE was born as a pioneer company that takes the benefits of a material considered disposable and only useful for packaging, transforming it into an innovative and creative design object.
Through a design laboratory and multiple tests, we thoroughly learned about the characteristics and potential of this material, which was a great challenge as designers, making it a widely accepted consumer product in an exclusive market with a unique proposal and innovative that is reflected in the different product lines (Home Design, Animal Design, Design for children and Special edition). After 1 year of experience and study around the material, finding the right technique and machinery, together with market analysis, a business model is created in which CARTONMADE goes from being an idea to a real project, and is given to meet in different design fairs recognized in Bogotá, and is highlighted in specialized publications of design and architecture in Colombia (Axxis Magazine), This is how we seek to consolidate our brand and opens a store specialized in eco design located in Bogotá (Carrera 4 # 69-37), to position this concept and boost Colombian design with exclusive handmade cardboard products.
